New Dawn Daily Message

Good morning and thank you for joining us this morning as we offer ourselves to the Lord, reaching up to Him in Praise and worship as a new day starts.

Many times a message from the Bible seems to be so startling. It is almost like touching a live wire and getting a shock. Here is such a verse this morning. It comes from the apostle Paul, writing from prison, to thank friends who, although going through tough themselves times, yet set him gifts, for which he was grateful, even if strictly speaking, he didn't need them. He wrote this this to them.

'I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content, in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.' 

What a testimony. Learning contentment would have been for him, as it is for us, a very steep learning curve, one on which we have been almost forcibly placed by the present situation. But notice the secret, and the source and His contentment? It came from drawing all his strength from the Lord Jesus. 

Paul learned to get beyond self reliance to deep dependence. He coped with everything- He got beyond wanting to trusting. The only 'More,' he wanted in his life, was more of daily deepening his relationship with the Lord Jesus.Today will you find you can cope and carry on, because you know He is with you, His spirit is within you and truly this is all you need. Will you say it I know this and believe this. Today will be a day of contentment not complaint. ( I liked the chorus of Amen that showed up on line. How about just saying to day. Thank you Lord and putting it there.

Remember to keep those front line health and social work men and women in your prayers today.
